GSU & Generator Step-Up Transformers for Sale

Transformer Traders supplies new, unused and pre-owned generator step-up (GSU) transformers. Compare the listings below by full MVA rating and winding voltage, then request the equipment ID's nameplate, available test records, price and current availability. A voltage match alone does not establish suitability for generator duty.

Technical selection

Confirm generator duty before comparing price.

Provide generator voltage, output and power-factor basis, grounding arrangement, required grid voltage and expected operating conditions. Review excitation, overfluxing and protection requirements with the project engineer. A matching ratio does not establish suitability for generator service.

Compare condition and documentary evidence

For new/unused equipment, confirm storage and preservation, factory records, completeness and any transferable warranty. For pre-owned equipment, request operating and maintenance history, removal details, oil and electrical testing, and documented repairs. A catalog condition label does not establish a remaining service life or test result.

Request the unit-specific package

Ask for the nameplate, winding diagram, general arrangement, available tests, accessory list, shipping configuration, weights and oil information. List missing records and proposed inspections in the purchase review.

Read the related procurement guide

Before choosing between offers, use the transformer quote-comparison guide to separate equipment price, testing, accessories and delivery scope.

Make delivery part of
the equipment decision.

Confirm origin and destination, site access, preparation, oil handling, accessory shipments, transport permits, offloading and installation scope. Agree whether a quoted date means factory release, pickup, site arrival or readiness for commissioning.

Discuss turnkey delivery and installation
Where can I buy a GSU transformer?

Contact Transformer Traders with a listed equipment ID or your generator and grid requirements. We review the available documentation and sourcing options, then confirm the proposed unit, price, availability and delivery scope in writing. Final application approval remains with the project engineer.

Can an available unit be delivered immediately?

Catalog availability is not a dispatch commitment. Document review, inspection, preparation, loading, permits and receiving-site readiness determine the delivery plan for the individual unit.

What if none of the listed equipment fits?

Send the mandatory ratings, winding voltages, physical constraints, quantity and deadline. We can review other surplus and pre-owned sources or discuss a new-build option. Engineering acceptance remains project-specific.

Request a technical package.

Include an equipment ID or your required MVA, voltages, quantity, location and delivery date.
